  • SPAM - Here' a great article on spam by Paul Graham, inventor of the LISP language, about what spammers are thinking, about Bayesian filtering, and what to do about spam.
  • Art Today - Good source of clip art, photos, sounds, and helpful advice. Items sold on a subscription basis
  • Web Dog Pro - This web hosting provider has a great source of HTML templates. Very attractive and versatile.
  • Web Workshop - Phil Craven's newsletter on search engine optimization and other issues related to making the web work as well as it can.
  • Web for Beginners - This is a great starting point for those who want to learn Web editing -- it's the Web Monkey site, no longer being updated, but full of really great information.
  • Favicon.ico - Want a quick solution to producing those small images that appear in t he address bar of your browser? Check out html-kit's favicon maker.
  • Always On is Red Herring founder Tony Perkins' braintrust. It's a geeky magazine about industry events.

  • Flash Loaded Dynamic Text - This component makes dynamic text easier to manage in Flash. Lots of other resources here as well.
  • Flash Guru - a discussion of preloading elements - Flash Guru is a good source of Flash information, plus a jumping off point to lots of other resources. This page discusses preloading images and other components.
  • Controlling Audio in Flash - Kenny Bellew has a great tutorial on the various aspects of controlling sound within Flash's ActionScript.

  • Moderated Guest Book - A free guest book application built with the Flat Text software. Good example of a moderated guest book.
  • Web tutorials for the beginner - If you are new to the Web and are looking for a very simple explanation of some of the basic principles, here's the spot. Discusses basic page markup, forms, cascading style sheets, and more.
  • Sticky Sauce - The Web Developer's Web site. There's lots of help here.
  • Relevant Tools - a set of mail management tools that are available on a monthly fee basis.
  • Help with Cascading Style Sheets - Tired of frames, but scared of styles? This will help.
  • Razor - a public spam filtering project. When I get time, I'll look into this.
  • CGI Resource - Lots of resources, written in Perl, and ready for implementation. This particular script concerns password protection for Web pages that need security.
  • Web Dev Store - Templates, available through WebDev, are located here. Plus lots of other stuff, free and for sale.
  • Flat Text Zip Code Locators software - Perl software that lets one create a dealer locator or other application that will identify locations according to zip code.
  • Underground Weather - Tools for weather, time and temperature, this one a small gizmo that I want to put on Bizville's home page.
  • Mailto: Tricks - Good tutorial about how to use the mailto: e-mail generator for sophisticated purposes.
